At Rudy Project, we are committed to develop products aimed at the highest level of safety, exceeding requirements set by international standards, such as the CE or CPSC norms. Today our goal is to go even further by overpassing a new experimental testing protocol based on real accident datas and scientific sources. The Rudy Project WG11 rotational impact test is a protocol adopted by Rudy Project, in cooperation with accredited and notified bodies, to test and measure the performance of the helmets against rotational impacts. The Rudy Project WG11 “pass-fail” criterion is based on the BRIC (Brain Injury Criterion) value, an algorithm that defines the level of brain injury. This value must be less than 0,68. Several studies in fact showed that concussive values of BRIC for humans varied from 0.60, when scaled directly from animal data, to 0.68 when obtained directly from college football players.

Falls can prove to be very costly and have permanent or even lethal consequences. The starting point for the development of Rudy Project’s helmets is the adoption of #only highly-advanced materials which can absorb shocks and dissipate the mechanical energy without it being transferred to the head and body. Our bicycle helmets, depending on the design and market of destination, comply with the provisions of Module B of the Regulation (EU) 2016/425 “Personal Protective Equipment” and with the national standard transposing the harmonized standard(s) EN 1078:2012+A1:2012 “Helmets for pedal cyclists and for users of skateboards and roller skates” for PPE of Class II, or with American safety standard “CPSC § 12.03 U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmets for Persons Age 5 and Older.”

Integrated Airframe

The airframe frontal padding minimizes the sweating process inside the helmet enhancing the air circulation and avoiding the release of unpleasant smells and ensuring the best level of performance.


In-Mold technology allows us to cast the external polycarbonate outer shell directly during the injection stage of the expandable polystyrene (EPS) impact-absorbing foam. The result is a much more rigid structure which is knock-resistant and extremely light, allowing for better ventilation system. The combined action of the EPS structure, the polycarbonate cap and exo-skeleton creates resistance to the mechanical action exercised by an impact and dissipates the energy in order to prevent it from being transferred to the head of the person wearing the helmet.



Originally inspired by conehead technology and developed be extremely lightweight, this entirely new structure is one of the most advanced Rudy Project solutions. And it is designed to maximize your safety by ensuring unprecedented level of security. The liner is molded with two different foam densities and the hexagon-shaped structure provides improved shock absorption by dissipating impact forces sideways and radially. Thus, the Hexocrush reduces the g-force pressure on the head in case of falls or impacts

Inspired by sharks, the dorsal ridge helps converting sideways force into a forward force, like it was a long tailed helmet. It gives more surface only when it is necessary, as with a cross wind, while it remains small for less frontal area effect.


The Vortex Killer System is designed to aid in the straightening of the airflow over the rear of the helmet. The scientific combination of the helmet geometry and the side vents helps in managing these vortex low pressure points which create drag and instability. Air is directed, through a proprietary channel system, over the neck and shoulder areas at a different rate or volume than the oncoming free air.



The Flip Up system offers a unique and removable shield interface for full wraparound visual protection, enhanced flow dynamics and atmospheric management minimizing eye strain. The practical magnetic flip-up system will ease you when putting the helmet on, while cutting fog and maximizing cooling during long rides.
